James Henry Hodge age 70 of Galax, Virginia passed away Monday, September 12, 2011 at his home.
Mr. Hodge was born in Carroll County, Virginia on January 3, 1941 to Kemper and Marie Linville Hodge.
In addition to his mother Marie Newman of Galax, Virginia he is survived by his wife Bonnie Hawkins Hodge of Galax, Virginia; sons and daughters-in-law Michael & Sarah Hodge of Galax, Virginia; Brad & Linda Mabe of Covington, Virginia; grandchildren Cheyenne Hodge; McKenzie Hodge; Haylee Hodge; Bree Kegley; Braiden Mabe; Breiana Mabe; Charles Offer; Chaya Offer and Caiden Offer; sisters and brothers-in-law Earline & Young McLean; Cathy and Eddie Testerman all of Galax, Virginia; brother and sister-in-law Roy & Mary Hodge of Galax, Virginia; step-daughter Teresa Hawkins of King, North Carolina; several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Thursday, September 15, 2011 at 2:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Rev. Robert McLean and Rev. Sam Bartlett officiating. Burial will follow in the McKenzie Cemetery with Military Rites by Hillsville VFW Post 1115. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
