James Allen Hines, 77, of Fries, Virginia passed away Saturday July 6, 2019 at his home. Mr. Hines was born on February 19, 1942 in Grayson County, Virginia to Hobert and Mollie Carrico Hines. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister Mary Sue Hines.

Mr. Hines is survived by his wife Edna Osborne Hines of Fries; daughters and sons-in-law Connie and Bobby Edwards of Galax, Rhonda and Todd Wolford of Woodlawn, Jennifer Williams of Woodlawn, Tina and Eric Rose of Fries; sons and daughters-in-law Richard and Cyndy Hines of Elkton, Chuck Hines of Galax, James Allen Hines Jr. of Fries, Jason and Amber Hines of Independence; and step-son Freddie Hancock of Welcome, North Carolina. Also surviving are fifteen grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; brother Roger Hines of Fries; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Wednesday at 12:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Rev. David Olinger and Rev. Gloria Lancaster Rhudy officiating. Burial will follow in the Providence Cemetery in Fries, Virginia. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 11:00 AM until time for the funeral service at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
