James Hurley Hash Jr., known as Hurley Hash age 73 of Woodlawn, Virginia passed away Wednesday, December 11, 2024 in the New River Valley Medical Center.

Hurley was born on November 3, 1951 in Elk Creek, Virginia to James Hurley and Mary Maude Bobbitt Hash, Sr.

He proudly served his country in the US Marines.

He is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law Brandy and John Ayers of Woodlawn, Virginia; Jody and David Johnson of Independence, Virginia; grandchildren and spouse Morgan Ayers; William Ayers; Levi and Grace Johnson; Luke Johnson; Laken Johnson; sister Shirley McMillian of Surry County, North Carolina; brother and sister-in-law Herbert and Lou Hash of Galax, Virginia; two half-sisters Elizabeth Harmon of Galax, Virginia; Melissa Alford of Woodlawn, Virginia;  special friend Jo-Ann Robinson.

The funeral service will be held Saturday at 2:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with burial to follow in the Monta Vista Cemetery. Military Rites will be conducted by the Hillsville VFW Post 1115. The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:00 PM until time for the funeral service at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
