James Monroe Harrell age 70 of Woodlawn, Virginia passed away Saturday, May 9, 2015 in the North Carolina Baptist Hospital.
Mr. Harrell was born on July 2, 1944 in Grayson County, Virginia to James and Rose E. Bryant Harrell.
In addition to his mother Rose E. Parks of Galax, Virginia he is survived by his wife Carolyn Stepp Harrell of Woodlawn, Virginia; daughters and son-in-law Paula Jones of Rocky Mount, Virginia; Patricia Harrell of Galax, Virginia; Heather and Randy Rector of Monticello, Kentucky, son and spouse Russell W. Harrell and Walter R. Dillow of Bland, Virginia; sister and brother-in-law Marianne and Kenneth Sutherland of Spokane, Washington; brother and sister-in-law Robert and Alice Harrell of Tucson, Arizona; four grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will beheld Thursday, May 14, 2015 at 2:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with the Rev. Ernie Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Snow Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from seven until nine pm at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
