James Darrell Galyean age 92 of Galax, Virginia passed away Sunday September 29, 2024 in the NHC Cavette Hill in Knoxville, Tennessee.

Mr. Galyean was born in Surry County, North Carolina on February 3, 1932 to Iveris and Grace Smith Galyean. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Ruby Triplett Galyean; sister Wilma Galyean Walker and brother Okie Galyean.

He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law Dan and Pam Galyean of Knoxville, Tennessee; sister Verna Lowe of Low Gap, North Carolina; several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, October 2nd at the Monta Vista Cemetery with the Rev. Richard Gregory officiating. There will be no visitation.
