James Garnie Easter, Sr. age 95 of Hillsville, Virginia passed away Wednesday, December 13, 2017 in the Heritage Hall Laurel Meadows Nursing Home.

Mr. Easter was born in Carroll County, Virginia on September 5, 1922 to Jesse Michael and Rosenia Agnes Burcham Easter. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Guida Sharpe Easter and an infant son Dwight.

He proudly served his country in the US Army.

He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law Carolyn and William B. Webb of Hillsville, Virginia; son and daughter-in-law James "Jimmy" and Beth Easter of Nashville, Tennessee; grandchildren and spouses Heather and Jed Nolan of Bronte, Australia; Lara and Chris Reynolds of Mason, Ohio; Ryan Easter of Charlotte, North Carolina; three great-grandchildren Levi Reynolds; Roman Reynolds and Lily Mae Nolan.

The funeral service will be held Saturday December 16, 2017 at 1:00 PM in the First Christian Church with the Rev. Randy Morris officiating. Burial will follow in the Monta Vista Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from twelve noon until time for the funeral service at the First Christian Church.
