James Carden Duncan age 79 of Highland, Maryland passed away Monday December 18, 2006 in Montgomery General Hospital in Olney, Maryland. He was born on September 26,1927 in Fries, Va. to the late Earl & Darcus Criner Duncan. He is survived by his wife Virginia Mae Duncan of Highland, Maryland; daughters Christine Tressler of LaPlata, Maryland; Rhonda Cleaveland of Frederick, Maryland; Patti Cottrell of Huntington, Maryland; Kathy Marshall of Sykesville, Maryland; son Michael Duncan of Hagerstown, Maryland; sisters Mildred Bobbitt of Independence, Va.; Ellen Landreth & Joyce Bilbrey both of Fries, Va.; brother Robert Duncan of Annapolis, Maryland; seventeen grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren and several nieces & nephews. The funeral service will be held Thursday December 21, 2006 at 1:00 PM in Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Rev. Robert Lanter and Rev. Titus Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in McKenzie Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from seven until nine at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
