James Thomas Dotson, Jr. age 81 of Randleman, North Carolina passed away Monday, September 8, 2014 in the Grey Briar Nursing Home in Trinity, North Carolina.

Mr. Dotson was born on February 18, 1933 in Galax, Virginia to James T. and Donna Bullins Dotson. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Thelma Isom Dotson, grandson Christopher Michael Lawling and brother Howard Dale Dotson.

He proudly served our country in the U.S. Air Force.

He is survived by his daughters and son-in-law Bonnie Dotson of Randleman, North Carolina; Brenda and Kim Siers of Sophia, North Carolina; sons James Thomas Dotson, Michael Anthony Dotson and Tony Lee Dotson all of Randleman, North Carolina; step-daughter Betty Jean Spraker of Graham, North Carolina; step-son Jackie Sawyers of Randleman, North Carolina; sister and brother-in-law Patricia and Buddy Wilson; brother and sister-in-law Jerry and Weezie Dotson all of Pennsylvania; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at 2:00 PM in the McKenzie Cemetery with the Rev. Ted Bartlett officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 1:00 PM until 1:30 PM at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
