James Donnie Felts age 61 of Galax, Virginia passed away Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at his home.

Donnie was born in Galax, Virginia on June 10, 1954 to James Clifford and Joellen Baumgardner Felts.

He proudly served his country in the US Navy. He loved doing "Poppy Sales " and working other VFW Fund Raising Events.

He is survived by his fiancee' Betty Jo Dudley of Galax, Virginia; sons and daughter-in-law Rev. Timothy and Cindy Felts; Christopher C. Felts, Sr. all of Fancy Gap, Virginia; father and step-mother James C. and Joe Ann Felts of Fries, Virginia; sister Shelia Honaker of Galax, Virginia; brothers Billy Baumgardner and Tony Felts both of Fries, Virginia; four grandchildren Seth Michael Felts; Preston Edmond Felts; Christopher C. Felts, Jr. and Brent Michael Felts; step brother Bruce Crider; step-sisters Judy Ann Mellive; Pamela Tucker and Nancy Tarlton; several nieces and nephews; special friends Joseph Vass; Mark Vass; David Vass; Misty Pack and her son Alex Pack.

The funeral service will be held Sunday, February 21, 2016 at 2:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel. Burial will follow in the Monta Vista Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from six until eight at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home. Military Rites will be conducted by the Grayson VFW Post 7726.
