James Piper Cox age 67 of Fries, Virginia passed away Sunday, December 27, 2009 at Twin County Regional Hospital.
Mr. Cox was born on June 19, 1942 in Carroll County, Va. to Stewart & Luvenia Burnett Cox.
He is survived by his wife Betty Cox of Fries, Va.; daughters & sons-in-law Jewel & Rob Hollinger of Independence, Va.; Cheryl & Gary Stuart of Fries, Va.; son & daughter-in-law Alan & Teresa Cox of Hillsville, Va.; step-sons Jimmy Dean Horton & fiance' Tina Tellez of Galax, Va.; Scotty Horton & wife Monique of Fries, Va.; sisters Viola Lineberry of Hillsville, Va.; Ruth Lineberry of Woodlawn, Va.; brothers & sisters-in-law John Wayne & Gerda Cox of Corpus Cristi, Texas; Virgil & Minnie Lee Cox of Gibbsonville, N.C.; Carroll Wayne & Rebecca Cox of Galax, Va; four grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; several nieces & nephews; special friends Herb & Doris Brown.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at 1:00 pm at Midway Heights Community Church with Brother Max Combs officiating. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
