James Roosevelt Combs, 82, of Lexington, NC passed away Thursday, June 4, 2015 at his home.
Mr. Combs was born May 6, 1933 in Carroll County, Virginia to the late Edgar Lee and Maggie Ethel Hawks Combs. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters Ruby Combs and Fern South.
Mr. Combs is survived by his wife Virginia Rippey Combs of the home; daughters and son-in-law Karen Combs Tipton and Eddie of Richfield, North Carolina; Sandra Combs Hill of Trinity, North Carolina; son and daughter-in-law Michael James Combs and Nona of Lexington, North Carolina; brother Edgar Neil Combs of Lexington; five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, one great-great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside service and burial will be held Sunday, June 7, 2015 in the Good Hope Cemetery at 3:00 PM with Gale Rippey officiating. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
