James Paul Chappell's Obituary
James Paul Chappell age 85 of Galax, Virginia passed away Wednesday, February 24, 2016 in the Waddell Nursing and Rehab Center.
Mr. Chappell was born on March 11, 1930 in Carroll County, Virginia to Cabble and Maude Willie Chappell. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Imogene Chappell.
He proudly served his country in the US Army during the Korean War.
He is survived by his daughter Ramona Chappell; sons and daughter-in-law Michael and Sue Chappell; Carl Chappell; Terry Chappell all of Galax, Virginia; sisters and brother-in-law Shirley Burkhardt of Fries, Virginia; Ella Mae and Larry Williams of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; Josie Chappell of Galax, Virginia; Mary Ann Lineberry of Walkertown, North Carolina; brother and sister-in-law Robert and Anne Chappell of Galax, Virginia; grandchildren and spouses Shannon Liddle of Galax, Virginia; Rachel and T.J. Seeley of Vinton, Virginia; Kelli Chappell of Galax, Virginia; Justin and Heather Puckett; one great-grandchild Brayden "BooBoo" Puckett; several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held Friday, February 26, 2016 at 2:00 PM in the St. Peter's Lutheran Church Cemetery with Pastor Titus Anderson officiating. Military Rites will be conducted by the Grayson VFW Post 7726. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
