James Carlie Combs known as J.C. Combs age 75 of Galax, Virginia passed away Monday April 4, 2022 at his home.

J.C. was born on December 7, 1946 in Carroll County, Virginia to Carlie and Ruby Combs. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Lita Faye Combs and three brothers Donald Combs, Darnell Combs and Donnie Combs.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years Teresa Cox Combs; daughters and son-in-law Jessie Robbins;  Robin and P.J. Taylor; Heather Mullins and her ex-husband John Mullins all of Galax, Virginia; five grandchildren Kaitlyn Hall Burrell; Joshua Taylor; Ian Mullins; Jaden Taylor and Kameron Hall; sisters and brother-in-law Jessie and Jerry Hill of Westfield, North Carolina; Darlene Baker of Fries, Virginia; brothers and sister-in-law Joe and Linda Combs of Hillsville, Virginia; Bobby Combs of Floyd, Virginia; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Friday at 2:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Pastor Howard Coletrain officiating. Burial will follow in the Monta Vista Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 1:00 PM until time for the funeral service at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
