James Robbin Burris, 54, of Sparta, NC passed away Saturday, December 12, 2009 at the Twin County Regional Hospital in Galax, VA. Robbin was born September 3, 1955 in Galax, VA to James William Burris and Norma Boyer Burris. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a special aunt, Cora Lee Burris.

Robbin is survived by his wife: Katy Burris of Sparta, children and spouse: Robin & Nathan Poe of Woodlawn, VA; Trina Burris of Galax, VA; Claire Caldwell and Anna Thadani both of Charlotte, NC and Katy Saddler of Sparta; two grandsons Chase Poe & Jaden Poe; two sisters & brothers-in-law: Becky & Roger Lundy of Galax; Beth & Dwayne Whitt of Culpepper, VA; brother & sister-in-law: Mike & Diane Burris of Charlottesville, VA.

The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 7 until 9 PM at the funeral home.

The funeral service will be held Wednesday, December 16, 2009 in the Baywood Wesleyan Church at 11:00 AM with Rev. Barry Miller officiating. Interment will follow in the Summerfield United Methodist Church Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted at the graveside by Grayson VFW Post #7726.
