James Harvey Bilbrey age 96 of Max Meadows, Virginia went home to be with his Lord and Savior Thursday April 6, 2023 in the Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Bilbrey was born in Childress, Texas on February 9, 1927 to Jesse Wilburn and Ethel Lou Harris Bilbrey. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Emily Sue Stoots Bilbrey; granddaughter Lauren Marie Baffy; three sisters and two brothers.

He proudly served his country in the US Army.

He is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law Joyce and Kenneth Schroeder of New Boston, Michigan; Patricia and Drew Kendall of Franklin, Ohio; three sons and daughters-in-law Rocky and Jennifer Bilbrey of Max Meadows, Virginia; Timothy and Diane Bilbrey of Huntington, West Virginia; Danny and Pamela Bilbrey of Carleton, Michigan; fifteen grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held be held Monday at 11:00 AM in the Fort Chiswell United Methodist Church with Pastor Rick Lindamood and Pastor N.R. Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Hope Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from six until eight at the Fort Chiswell United Methodist Church.
