James Greer Bare age 87 of Fancy Gap, Virginia passed away Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at his home.

Mr. Bare was born in Fairfax, Virginia on February 6, 1925 to James and Minnie Greer Bare. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Virginia Dare Bare; sons James Ronald Bare and Richard Staley Bare; sisters Hazel, Mabel and Jessie; brothers Carl and Charles.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Brenda Joyce and Richard C. Meadows of Rising Sun, Maryland; son and daughter-in-law Frank and Elena Bare of Dobson, North Carolina; sister Violet Hayden of Columbus, Ohio; six grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Friday, August 24, 2012 at 12:00 Noon in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Rev. Hank Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in the Felts Memorial Cemetery with Military Rites by the Hillsville VFW Post 1115. The family will receive friends Friday from 11:00 AM until time for the funeral service at the funeral home.
