James Ray Alley's Obituary
James Ray Alley age 87 of Independence, Virginia passed away Wednesday, January 8, 2014 in the North Carolina Baptist Hospital.
Mr. Alley was born in Grayson County, Virginia on July 3, 1926 to James and Lillie Hanks Alley.
He is survived by his wife Helen Petty Alley; sons and daughter-in-law Gary and Kathy Alley; Mark Alley all of Independence, Virginia; sister Stella Bare of Galax, Virginia; brother Buford Alley of Tampa, Florida; three grandchildren Stephanie Laffin; Brian Alley and Travis Alley; great-granddaughter Lyla Laffin; several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Saturday, January 11, 2014 at 11:00 AM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Rev. Derrick Cowen officiating. Burial will follow in the Zion Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 10:00 AM until time for the funeral service at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
