Jackie Ray Richardson age 73 of Galax, Virginia passed away Wednesday, January 15, 2025 in the Forsyth Medical Center.

Jackie was born on September 23, 1951 in Galax, Virginia to James and Katherine Young Richardson.

He is survived by his wife Sylvia Davis Richardson; daughters and son-in-law April Richardson; Torian Ivey and Charles; son and daughter-in-law Jeraurd Richardson and Giovanna; siblings and spouses Norma Jean Richardson; Thomas Richardson and Gloria; Stevie Richardson and Nona;  Helen Kyle and Conley; and Tina Garcia; five grandchildren Noelle; Noah; Judah; Joseph; and Cora AnnaBella-Rae; Godsons Demetrius Early and Darrick Early; as well as several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Sunday at 2:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Bishop Barry Early and the Rev. Stevie Richardson officiating. Burial will follow in the Oldtown Cemetery. Military Rites will be conducted by the Grayson VFW Post 7726. The family will receive friends Sunday from 1:00 PM until time for the funeral service at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
