Jackie Lee (Jack) Williams age 79 of Fries, Virginia passed away Thursday, March 15, 2018 in Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Williams was born in Carroll County, Virginia on May 15, 1938 to Bruce and Kate Barber Williams.

He proudly served his country in the US Army.

He is survived by his wife Virginia R. Williams of Fries, Virginia; daughter and son-in-law Ruth and Warren Johnson of Galax, Virginia; son and daughter-in-law Carl Allen and Janie Ring of Glade Valley, North Carolina; five grandchildren Rachael Hartley, Doug Johnson, Matt Johnson, Adam Ring and Laken Ring; seven great-grandchildren Cheyenne Johnson, Arizona Johnson, Ellen Hartley, Logan Hartley, Zachary Hartley, Dillon Johnson and Nickolas Johnson; sister Peggy Shepherd of Roanoke, Virginia; brothers and sister-in-law Frank Williams of Greensboro, North Carolina; Roger and Carolyn Williams of Fries, Virginia; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Sunday, March 18, 2018 at 2:00 PM in the Mt. Hope United Methodist Church with Pastor Bobbie Dunford and the Rev. Lee Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Hope Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from six until eight at the Mt. Hope United Methodist Church.
