Jack Walter Pearson's Obituary
Jack Walter Pearson, 72, passed away Friday, January 16, 2009, at St. Joseph Hospital, Towson, Maryland. Mr. Pearson was born April 30, 1936 in Washington, DC to Elmer Pearson & Florence Burnham Pearson. He graduated from Virginia Tech in 1965.
He is survived by his wife: Sue Morris Pearson of the home; son John R. Pearson of Parkville, Maryland; three grandchildren Josh, Anika, and Todd Pearson all of Parkville; sister Zara Creel of Holiday, Florida; brothers & sisters-in-law: Jeff & Doris Morris,
Ralph & Mary Morris all of Galax; Harry & Betty Lou Morris of Kingsport, TN and Walter Matthews of Las Vegas, NV. Several nieces & nephews also survive.
The funeral will be held Monday, January 19, 2009 at 2:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Pastor Michael Morris officiating. Interment will follow in the Oakland Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the Cornerstone Community Church, 227 S Main Street, Galax, VA 24333.
