Iza Belle Delp, 65, of Hickory, North Carolina, formerly of Woodlawn, passed away Saturday, May 3, at the Palliative Care Center & Hospice in Hickory. She was born September 17, 1942 in Leesville, Virginia to Jesse & Lula Stockner Dalton.

She is survived by sons & daughters-in-law: Michael H Delp and wife Stephanie Delp of Hudson, NC and Collin D. Delp and wife; Melissa Delp of Connelly Springs, NC; grandchildren Brandi Delp, Michael H Delp, Jr., Robin Delp and Faith Delp.

One Sister: Elizabeth D. Vernon of Hillsville, VA; three brothers: Emory Dalton of Ponte Vedra, Florida; James Stockner of Newton, NC; and Donald D. Akers of Hillsville, VA. Special cousins: Mary Lee Walls of Newport News, VA and Wanda Reeves of Richmond, VA; special friend of the family: Pruella Shy of Hickory, NC. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Mrs. Delp was preceded in death by her husband, Harold L. Delp; daughter, Jessica Robin Delp; mother: Lula Akers; Jesse Dalton; and step-father Dillard D. Akers.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, May 7, 2008 from 6 until 8 pm at the funeral home. The funeral service will be held Thursday, May 8, 2008 at 4:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Pastor Ronny Harrison officiating. Interment will follow in the Felts Memorial Cemetery.
