Iva Rose Williams Ward age 95 of Galax, Virginia passed away Wednesday, October 10, 2012 in the Waddell Nursing Home.

Mrs. Ward was born in Grayson County, Virginia on June 19, 1917 to Clark Higgins and Laura Ida Stamey Williams. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Lonnie Woodrow Ward; sisters Agnes; Merle; Nellie and Edna; brothers Lote; Rex; Hatcher; Roy; Tossie; Harold and Ivy (Bully).

She is survived by her daughters and son-in-law Barbara Haliburton of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; Margaret and Lamar Hebert; Jane Ward all of Galax, Virginia; five grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; special friend Clarence Davis.

Iva worked at Globman's for forty-two years and retired as manager of the childrens' department.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, October 13, 2012 at 1:00 PM in the First Baptist Church with Pastor Sam Bartlett and Elizabeth Vaughan officiating. Burial will follow in the Felts Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from six until eight at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
