Iva Imogene Rector, age 94, of Woodlawn, Va died Sunday, Feb. 3, 2013 in the Twin County Regional Hospital, Galax, VA.
Mrs. Rector was born April 27, 1918 in Carroll County, VA to Robert Hesikah and Gertie Viola Bolen Bunn.
She is survived by daughters and son-in-law,, Patsy Sue Brown, Galax, VA and Elizabeth and Gene Myers, Woodlawn, Va; foster daughter & son-in-law, Marie & Alvin Wiggins, Gastonia, NC; son & daughter-in-law, Donald & Nancy Rector, Galax, VA; sisters, Almarie Bowman, Hillsville, VA, Wanda Jensen, LaCrosse, Wisconsin; brother & sister-in-law, Robert & Iva Bunn, Jr., Hillsville, VA; seven grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, three step grandchildren, eight step great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
The funeral service will be held Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013 at 11:00 AM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel, Galax, VA. Burial will follow in the Monta Vista Cemetery,. Officiating ministers will be Elder Melvin McGrady and Elder Reuben Hawks. The family will receive friends from six until eight pm Tuesday at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home, Galax, VA.
