Iva Lee Stanley Martin, 78, of Fries passed away Tuesday, December 11, 2007 at the Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center, Winston-Salem, NC. She was born June 5, 1929 in Grayson County to Garnett Stanley & Lela Felts Stanley.

She is survived by daugthers & sons-in-law: Lori & Frank Hawks of Fries; Jan Mathena & Terry Davis of Rural Retreat, VA; sons & daughters-in-law: Alan & Joan Martin of Fries, Eddie & Mary Ellen Martin of Harrisonburg, VA and David Leonard of Fries; Sisters & Brothers-in-law: Forrest Williams of Danville; Clarice & Ralph Ward of Independence; Nina Edwards of Galax; Glenda & Paddle Mills of Cripple Creek. Twelve grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews also survive.
A special friend Peggy Funk also survives.

Iva was joined in death by her daughter Mary Kay Leonard.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Lawrence Clayton Martin, a sister Marie Mitchell and brother Curtis Stanley, parents and stepmother Myrtle Stanley.

The family will receive friends Saturday, Dec. 15, 2007 from 6 until 9 o'clock at the Fries Pentecostal Holiness Church. The funeral service will be held at the church Sunday December 16, 2007 at 1:00 PM with Rev. Bill Linkous, Rev. Darrell Martin, and Rev. Bill Shupe officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
