Irene Iroler Horton age 87 of Galax, Va. passed away at her residence Friday, November 9, 2007. Mrs. Horton was born in Carroll County, Va. on July 24, 1920 to Charlie & Maude Bowman Iroler. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Hayden Horton, brothers Ken, Jim & Frankie Iroler. She is survived by her daughters & son-in-law Carolyn & Roger Farmer of Woodlawn, Va.; Carolyn Petty of Galax, Va.; sister Peggy Thomas of Richmond, Va.; brothers & sisters-in-law Bill Iroler, Rod & Alease Iroler and Sonny Iroler all of Hillsville, Va.; Bob & Gaye Iroler of Fries, Va.; sisters-in-law Lucille Iroler of Hillsville,Va.; Jean Iroler of Galax, Va.; two grandsons; five great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; several nieces & nephews. The funeral service will be held Sunday, November 11, 2007 at 3:00 pm in the First Christian Church with Rev. Casey McKenna officiating. Burial will follow in Felts Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from six until eight at First Christian Church. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the First Christian Church.
