India (Blanche) Lineberry Woods

India (Blanche) Lineberry Woods, age 96, of Mebane, North Carolina and formerly of Woodlawn, Virginia passed away Saturday September 26, 2026 at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill, North Carolina surrounded by her family.

Mrs. Woods was born in Carroll County, Virginia on March 20, 1930 to Alvis and Amanda Bryant Lineberry. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Alvin Fred Woods; sisters Nancy Duncan and Effie Harmon; brothers Winfred Lineberry; Gilmer Lineberry and Elwood Lineberry.

She loved reading, gardening, old westerns and was a lifelong Elvis fan.

She is survived by her son Terry Woods of Greensboro, North Carolina; daughter and son-in-law Cathy and Alan Stephenson of Mebane, North Carolina; granddaughter Lindsay Stephenson of Burlington North Carolina; grandson and granddaughter-in-law Trevor and Myla Stephenson of Hillsborough, North Carolina.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday at 3:00 PM in the Joe Bryant Cemetery with Pastor Junior Bullion officiating. The family will receive friends at the cemetery from 2:00 PM until time for the service.
