Ilene Katherine Widner age 87 of Fries, Virginia passed away Monday, March 14, 2016 in the Grayson Nursing and Rehab Center.

Mrs. Widner was born in Grayson County, Virginia on October 21, 1928 to Radley and Sally Patton Vaughan. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband James Edward Widner.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Alan and Pat Widner of Fries, Virginia; sisters and brother-in-law Magdalene Crowder and Juanita Sutphin both of Galax, Virginia; Ann and Larry Bobbitt of Independence, Virginia; three grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, March 19, 2016 at 3:00 PM in the Fries Church of God of Prophecy with Pastor Tony Vaughan officiating. Burial will follow in the Fries Church of God of Prophecy Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:00 PM until time for the funeral service at the church.
