Ilas Arnold "Ike" Gallimore age 84 of Galax, Va. passed away Thursday at his home. Mr. Gallimore was born on February 11, 1923 in Virginia. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Katherine Simms Gallimore. Ilas "Ike" will be missed by his family and friends.He was a member of the Hillcrest Baptist Church and Masons. Later in years Ilas and Marie Snow worshipped at the Calvary Baptist Church. Ike proudly served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. He is survived by his sister Bertie Gallimore; his loving companion Marie Snow both of Galax, Va.; several nieces & nephews and a sister-in-law Freda Scincendiver of Winchester, Va.. A graveside service will be held Sunday, October 28th at 2:00 pm in the Comers Rock Cemetery with Rev. James Billings officiating. Masonic Rites will be conducted by Galax Lodge #68. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
