Ila Faye Payne age 80 of Woodlawn, Virginia passed away Saturday, October 27, 2012 in the North Carolina Baptist Hospital.

Mrs. Payne was born in Carroll County, Virginia on October 4, 1932 to Estel and Vergie Hanks Harrison. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Carroll Payne and a son Rickie Payne.

She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law Regenia and Paul Garber of Ararat, Virginia; sons and daughter-in-law Terron and Patricia Payne of Vinton, Virginia; Carroll Lewis Payne of Los Angeles, California; grandchildren; Paul Garber, Jr.; Theresa Mabe; Kayla Payne; great-grandchildren Brittaney Chappell; Abigail Mabe; Jason Edwards; Alyssa Edwards; Kylie Gonzales; great-great-grandchild Zander Chappell; special canine friend Princess.

The funeral service will be held Friday, November 2, 2012 at 11:00 AM in the Freedom Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Bunn and Rev. Myron Dalton officiating. Burial will follow in the Blue Ridge Chapel Cemetery. The body will lie-in-state one hour prior the funeral service at the church. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from six until eight at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the Pipers Gap Rescue Squad, 5567 Elkhorn Road Woodlawn, Virginia 24381.
