Ila Ivaleen Carico age 92 of Galax, Virginia passed away Friday, August 19, 2011 in the Twin County Regional Hospital.
Mrs. Carico was born April 12, 1919 in Carroll County to John Wesley & Lillie Maude Rakes Edwards. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Charlie Elbert Carico.
Mrs. Carico is survived by her daughter & husband Katie & Wade Petty; grandson & wife Charles & Theresa Petty all of Galax, two granddaughters & husbands Rhonda & Randy Lineberry of Fries and Dana & Mike Woodel of Galax, 6 great grandchildren: Casey Dowdy, Justin Petty, Heather Lineberry, Holly Mays, Jacob Woodel and Emily Woodel.
Special caregiver and niece Patsy McFarland also survives.
The funeral service will be held Sunday, August 21, 2011 at 3:00 PM in the Mt. Pisgah Church of Christ. Burial will follow in the McKenzie Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 1:00 PM until time for the service at the church.
