Ida Louise Roberts Hanks, 86., passed away Sunday, March 12, 2017 at her home. Mrs. Hanks was born in Galax, Virginia on June 10, 1930 to the late Marion Tom Roberts and Bessie Clementine Hendricks Roberts. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Luther Hanks, sons Thomas Wesley Hanks and Luther Hanks Jr.; sister Ora Mae Douglas; and brothers Walter Roberts and William Ecker Roberts.

She is survived by daughters Judy Royal and Sue Loggins both of Galax, Virginia; sons and daughter-in-law James and Dannette Hanks of Dobson, North Carolina; Danny Ray Hanks and Larry Hanks both of Galax, Virginia; sisters and brother-in-law: Geneva and Bobby Burcham and Virginia Alene Thomason all of Galax; brother Ted Roberts also of Galax. Six grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren and one great grandchild also survive.

The funeral service will be held Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at 2:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until service time. Burial will follow in the Monta Vista Cemetery.
