Hugh Phipps Adkins' Obituary
Hugh Phipps Adkins age 90 of Galax, Virginia passed away Wednesday, February 3,2016 in the Twin County Regional Hospital.
Mr. Adkins was born on October 11, 1925 in Grayson County, Virginia to Preston and Virginia Adkins. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years Lou Edna Stamper Adkins.
He is survived by his daughter Nellie Adkins of Galax, Virginia; sons and daughters-in-law Huey Lee and Carman Adkins of Germany; Harvey P. and Jewell Adkins of Woodlawn, Virginia; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held Friday, February 5, 2016 at 1:00 PM in the Zion Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with Billy Goad officiating. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
