Howard Rudolph Todd age 82 of Galax, Virginia passed away Friday, February 16, 2018 at Galax Health and Rehab in Galax, Virginia. He was born in Grayson County, Virginia on May 27, 1935.

He was preceded in death by his mother and step-father Ruth Todd Davis and Gene Davis of Indiana, his first wife Sally "Pat" Todd, his sons Samuel J. Todd of Galax and Timothy H. Todd of Winston-Salem, NC.

Survivors include his wife Jan Todd; stepson Luke Midkiff and wife Teresa of Clemmons, NC and their children Jake, Makayla, Savanah and Jordan; step-daughter Suzanne Midkiff Cahall and wife Jen; daughters-in-law Rhonda Todd of Galax and Pamela Todd Trail and her husband Mike of Lewisville, NC; sister-in-law Faye Cochran of Fries, Va.; brother-in-law Ralph Whittum, Jr. of Steamboat Springs, Colorado; sister-in-law Betsy E. Holden and spouse Sebastian Greco of Brewster, Massachusetts and several nieces and nephews.

Rudy was an independent insurance agent for almost forty years. He loved woodworking, gardening and spending time with his buddy, Gene Fayne.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 3, 2018 at 12 noon in the Oakland United Methodist with the Rev. Tim Smith officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday, March 3rd from 11:00 AM until time for the funeral service at the Oakland United Methodist Church. Burial was private for the family. In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made to the Oakland Backpack Buddies or Oakland Outreach Fund in care of Oakland United Methodist Church.
