Howard Ellison Easter age 78 of Galax, Virginia passed away Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at his home.

Mr. Easter was born in Fancy Gap, Virginia on May 23, 1940 to Joseph Benjamin and Thelma Vada Cagle Easter. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister Pauline Easter and a brother Ray Easter.

He is survived by his wife Zollie Rosalee Easter; daughter and son-in-law Jennifer and John A. Farmer all of Galax, Virginia; sisters and brothers-in-law Sallie Easter Marshall and Bill of Woodlawn, Virginia; Margaret Easter McCraw and Carlie of Fancy Gap, Virginia; two grandchildren and spouses John W. Farmer and Destiny; Brittany and Charles Tucker; three great-grandchildren Jared Spencer; Joshua Tucker and Sofia Farmer; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Friday, June 22, 2018 at 5:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Elder Tim Gentry, Elder Jesse Hutchins and Elder LeRay Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 3:00 PM until time for the funeral service at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
