Howard Easter age 85 of Galax, Va.passed away Sunday, February 4, 2007 in Twin County Regional Hospital. He was born in Carroll County, Va. on April 9, 1921 to the late Hilary Michael & Sara Easter. He is survived by his wife Zula Combs Easter of the home; sons & daughters-in-law Larry & June Easter of Siler City, N.C.; Elvin & Marsha Easter of Delco, N.C.; daughter Melissa Byrd of Wilmington, N.C.; sister Hattie Easter of Mt. Airy, N.C.; brother Homer Easter of Low Gap, N.C.; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. The funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11:00 AM in Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Rev. Shelton Weeks, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in St. Paul Church of the Brethren Cemetery with Military Rites by Hillsville VFW Post 1115. The family will receive friends Monday evening from seven until nine at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
