Horace Allen Cochran's Obituary
Horace Allen Cochran age 82 of Galax, Virginia passed away Monday, August 29, 2011 at his home.
Mr. Cochran was born on September 10, 1928 in Wythe County, Virginia to F.L. and Blanche Allen Cochran. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son Allen Cochran; sister Oleta Burnette; brother Pete Cochran.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Geneva Amburn Cochran; daughter and son-in-law Cathy and Ike Cruise; sisters Mildred Dickerson and Nancy Wilson all are of Galax, Virginia.
After graduating from Galax High School, Horace enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and served in the Korean War.
His life's work was the family business, Galax Motor Company.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, August 31, 2011 at 2:00 PM in the Felts Memorial Cemetery, Galax, Virginia with Rev. Richard Gregory officiating. Masonic Rites will be conducted by the Galax Oldtown Lodge #68. Military Rites will be conducted by the Grayson VFW Post 7726.
In lieu of flowers or food, please consider a donation to the Twin County Hospice.
There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
