Homer Anual Smith age 84 of Galax, Virginia passed away Sunday in the Waddell Nursing and Rehab Center.

Mr. Smith was born in Grayson County, Virginia on August 5, 1932 to Burley and Ida Burcham Smith. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Bernice Bobbitt Smith; brothers and sisters-in-law Paul and Mildred Smith; Willard Smith; Billy and Mary Smith and a brother-in-law Raymond Patton.

He is survived by his sister Joyce Patton of Charlotte, North Carolina; brothers and sisters-in-law Richard and Lois Smith; Kyle and Phyllis Smith; B.C. and Ann Smith all of Galax, Virginia; sisters-in-law and spouse Sue Smith; Audrey and Dennis Carico; Ruth Bobbitt all of Galax, Virginia; Glenda Bobbitt of Fancy Gap, Virginia; several nieces and nephews; several great-nieces and great-nephews.

The funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11:00 AM in the Meadow Creek Union Baptist Church with Elder Pete Hawks officiating. Burial will follow in the Meadow Creek Union Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 10:00 AM until time for the funeral service at the Meadow Creek Union Baptist Church.
