Homer Gene Burnette age 62 of Galax, Va. passed away Sunday, August 23, 2009 at Twin County Regional Hospital.
Gene was born in Carroll County, Va. on June 10, 1947 to Homer Jackson & Wilma Lawson Burnette.
He is survived by his wife Dianna Faye Burnette of Galax, Va.; sons & daughters-in-law Kenneth E. & Sherry Burnette of Galax, Va.; Robert D. & Linda Burnette of Woodlawn, Va.; grandchildren Leslie Burnette; Brooke Burnette; Kenna Burnette; Kevin Burnette; brother Jackie Dean Burnette, Sr. of Woodlawn, Va.; nephew Jackie Dean Burnette, Jr..
The funeral service will be held Wednesday, August 26, 2009 at 11:00 am in the Galax First Assembly of God Church with Pastor Cas Horton; Associate Pastor Angie Lineberry and Pastor D.G. Fox officiating. Burial will follow in the River Hill Christian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from six until eight at the Galax First Assembly Church of God Church. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Free Clinic Of The Twin Counties, P.O. Box 1708 Galax, Va. 24333.
