Hobert Thomas Akers' Obituary
Hobert Thomas Akers age 72 of Fries, Virginia passed away Thursday, July 28, 2011 in the Twin County Regional Hospital.
Mr. Akers was born in Carroll County, Virginia on August 10, 1938 to William and Vinnie Bourne Akers. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a granddaughter Amber Marie Clyburn.
He is survived by his wife Betty Felts Akers of Fries, Virginia; daughters and sons-in-law Lisa and Jeffrey Clyburn of Fries, Virginia; Sherry and Blaine Lewis of Provo, Utah; sister and brother-in-law Edna and John Leath of Lexington, North Carolina; grandchildren and spouse Ashley and Daniel Alderman; Faith Clyburn; Natasha Lewis and Anastazya Lewis; several nieces and nephews; special nieces and nephews Carol and Tony Crowder; Harold and Regina Summey.
The funeral service will be held Sunday, July 31, 2011 at 3:00 PM in the Galax Church of God of Prophecy with Rev. Titus Anderson and Rev. Rick Watson officiating. Burial will follow in the Stevens Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from six until eight at Galax Church of God of Prophecy.
