Hiram Alex (H.A.) Bagwell, age 77 of Galax, Virginia passed away Aug. 27, 2011 at his home.

Mr. Bagwell was born in Virginia, April 30, 1934, to Bert & Blanche Hackler Bagwell. His parents and his brother, Bobby Scott Bagwell, preceded him in death.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Emma Lineberry Bagwell of the home;
sister and brother-in-law Clarice Bagwell Moore and Bill of Galax, Virginia; brother and sister-in-law John Charles, Sr. and Linda of Galax, Virginia; sisters-in-law and spouses Ruby and Kenny Dinsmore; Edna Lineberry all of Galax, Virginia; Diane & Tracy Triplett of Hudson, North Carolina; Carolyn Musgrove of Galax, Virginia; best friend Junior Edwards; several nieces & nephews and several great-nieces & nephews also survive.

The funeral service will be held Tuesday at 2:00 PM in the Cliffview Church of God with Rev. Ron Hill and Pastor D.G. Fox officaiting. Burial will follow in the Grubbs Chapel Cemetery. The body will lie in state one hour before service time and the family will receive friends Monday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the church. Flowers will be appreciated, however, memorial contributions may be made to the family.
