Hilda Catherine Burnette Anthony age 77 of Galax, Virginia passed away Tuesday, September 22, 2020 at her home.

Mrs. Anthony was born in Galax, Virginia on October 21, 1942 to Vinton and Lotus Kegley Burnette. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband James Cleveland Anthony, Sr. and a brother David Burnette.

She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law Sherry L. and Kevin Rutherford of Fries, Virginia; Sheila A. and Chris Cook of Woodlawn, Virginia; son and daughter-in-law James C. and Melissa Anthony, Jr. of Galax, Virginia; five grandchildren Khristena D. Barnette; Austin Anthony; Ryan Anthony; Emily Cook and Seth Cook; one great-granddaughter Kaylynn J. Barnette; sisters and brother-in-law Linda Vaught of Galax, Virginia; Patricia and Gene Porter of Tennessee; brothers and sister-in-law Charles and Pam Burnette of Galax, Virginia; Jerry Burnette of Woodlawn, Virginia; two nieces Casey Boone and Carrie Ayers, nephew Chad Porter.

The funeral service will be held Friday at 3:00 PM in the Fairview Church with Pastor Sam Holder officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 2:00 PM until time for the service at the Fairview Church.
