Herbert Randolph Taylor age 84 of Ivanhoe, Virginia passed away Monday, August 22, 2016 at the home of his daughter Tammy.

Mr. Taylor was born on February 14, 1932 in Ivanhoe, Virginia to Roby and Ethel Williams Taylor. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister Joyce Friend; two brothers Willard Taylor and Howard Taylor and a great-granddaughter Kaden Shaffner.

He proudly served his country in the US Army.

He is survived by daughters and sons-in-law Julia and Jim Hagy of Galax, Virginia; Tammy and Tommy Caudill; Bridget Taylor all of Fries, Virginia; sons and daughters-in-law Randy and Pam Taylor; Brent and Joy Taylor all of Fries, Virginia; Craig and Tammy Taylor of Ivanhoe, Virginia; sister Terry Taylor of Wytheville, Virginia; brothers and sisters-in-law Donald and Evone Taylor of Fort Chiswell, Virginia; Pete and Alice Taylor of Ivanhoe, Virginia; Bernard and Angeline Taylor of Kernersville, North Carolina; Dennis and Kathy Taylor; Tommy and June Taylor; Larry Taylor all of Ivanhoe, Virginia; sister-in-law Olivia Taylor of Ivanhoe, Virginia; eleven grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews; special friends Pat Hamm; Troy Caudill and Julia Taylor.

The funeral service will be held Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at 11:00 AM in the Mt. Hope United Methodist Church with the Rev. Matt Linkous officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Hope Cemetery with Military Rites by the Hillsville VFW Post 1115. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from six until eight at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
