Herbert Linnie Phillips age 78 of Galax, Virginia passed away Wednesday July 21, 2021 at his home.

Mr. Phillips was born in Carroll County, Virginia on September 7, 1942 to Halfred Linnie and Alma Hodges Phillips. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his siblings Clinton Hodges; Levi Phillips; Donald Phillips and Pansy Hawks.

He is survived by  his wife Betty Lou Phillips of Galax, Virginia; sons and daughters-in-law Joe and Sharon Hash of Galax, Virginia; Michael and Mary Phillips of Fries, Virginia; five grandchildren Chrissy Hash; Brandon Phillips; Josh Phillips; Amber Burnette and Shyanne Phillips; six great- grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law Francis and Junior Jennings; Sue and Kenneth Anders; Brenda and Donnie Norman; brothers and sisters-in-law Larry and Lois Phillips; Martin and Nancy Phillips; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Tuesday at 2:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel. Burial will follow in the Coal Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday evening from six until eight at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
