Helen Delp Lightbourne age 87of Galax, Virginia passed away Thursday, December 26, 2024 in the Twin County Regional Hospital.

She was born in Carroll County, Virginia on May 20, 1937 to Truman Floyd and Nellie Lundy Delp. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother and sister-in-law Carroll Dean and Diana Delp; sister-in-law Nina Delp and her step-mother Louie B. Delp.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-aw Kimberly and George Dowell of Baltimore, Maryland, sisters and brother-in-law Brenda Alley of Lincolnton, North Carolina; Sandra and Larry Ward of Galax, Virginia; brother Guy Lee Delp of Galax, Virginia; one granddaughter Maggie Dowell; several nieces and nephews and her caregiver Marcus Goad.

The funeral service will be held Saturday at 2:00 PM in Midway Heights Community Church with Terry Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery at Cranberry. There will be no visitation.
