Helen (Bootsie) Mae Wright Johnson age 84 passed away on Thursday, June 11, 2009 at the Golden Living Center-Blue Ridge in Galax, Va.. She had been a resident there for some years. Helen was born in Richmond, Va. on May 22, 1925 to Mr.& Mrs. Virgil Wright who now are deceased. Helen grew up in the Old Church area a few miles northeast of Richmond. She attended Battlefield Park High School. She was formerly married to Robert B.Johnson of Cold Harbor, Va.. She was a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, a sister, a minister's wife, a friend to many,and a very eloquent and independent lady.

She is survived by her only son, Robert C. Johnson, and his wife Paulette who presently live in Bluefield, Va.; three grandchildren Mr.Tim Johnson & his wife Lynn of Midlothian, Va.; Mrs. Leigh Frasier and her husband Mike of Lynchburg, Va.; and Arabella Johnson of Bluefield, Va.; step-daughter Amy Mathis and her husband Mike of High Point,N.C.; four great-grandchildren Lindsay, Sydney, and Katie Beth Johnson and Ryan Frasier; two sisters Charlotte Sale and June Wright both of Richmond, Va.; brother Linwood Wright and wife Shirley of Mechanicsville,Va.. Her other brother Robert is deceased. She has many nieces, nephews and cousins.

We will all miss her for the rest of our days.

Graveside services will be held at Signal Hill Memorial Gardens in Hanover,Va. on Monday, June 15, 2009 at 3:00 PM with Cynthia Stratton, minister of the Bon Air Christian Church presiding. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Twin County Hospice, P.O. Box 106 Galax, Virginia 24333 on behalf of Robert C. Johnson.
