Helen Pauline Isom, 82, of Galax, Virginia passed away Thursday, November 5, 2015 in the North Carolina Baptist Hospital, Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Pauline was born May 1, 1933 in Alleghany County, North Carolina to Kemper and Eva Anders Jarvis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Glenn W. Isom.

Pauline is survived by daughters and sons-in-law: Regina and Dean Rector of Woodlawn, Virginia; Valarie and Dwayne Vaughan of Galax, Virginia; sons and daughters-in-law: Ronald and Gina Isom of Galax, Virginia; Jerry and Alice Isom of Woodlawn, Virginia; Ricky and Kimberly of Mooresville, North Carolina; sister and brother-in-law Lois and Carl Anders of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; sisters-in-law and husbands: Margaret Jarvis and Mary Johnson both of Ennice, North Carolina; Mildred and James Nelson of Woodlawn, Virginia; Mandy and Starling Jennings of Speedwell, Virginia; brother-in-law: Delmer Isom of Wytheville, Virginia.

Six grandchildren, four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.

The funeral service will be held Sunday, November 8, 2015 at 2:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Pastor Ron Hill and Rev. Don Fox officiating. Burial will follow in the Isom Cemetery off Lincoln Road, Galax, Virginia. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until service time.
