Helen Petty Alley's Obituary
Helen Petty Alley age 87 of Independence, Virginia passed away Sunday, February 21, 2015 in the Waddell Nursing and Rehab Center.
Mrs. Alley was born on March 23, 1928 in Grayson County, Virginia to Dempsey and Ruth Caudill Petty. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Ray Alley.
She is survived by her sons Gary Ray Alley and Mark Cleveland Alley both of Independence, Virginia; grandchildren Brian Alley of Sparta, North Carolina; Stephanie Laffin of Paltz, New York, Travis Alley of Richmond, Virginia; great-granddaughter Lyla Laffin; sisters Estelle Spencer of Bel Air, Maryland; Loretta Evans of Galax, Virginia; brother and sister-in-law Wade and Kate Petty of Galax, Virginia; several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, February 27, 2016 at 1:00 PM in the Zion Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Randy Morris officiating. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
