Heath Worth Higgins' Obituary
Heath Worth Higgins age 94 of Galax, Virginia passed away Friday, December 26, 2014 in the Waddell Nursing Home.
Mr. Higgins was born on October 8, 1920 in Grayson County, Virginia to Dean G. and Mattie Lou Liddle Higgins. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters Iris Higgins Cole and Elizabeth Higgins Robinson.
He is survived by his wife Kathleen Smythers Higgins of Galax, Virginia; daughters and sons-in-law Beverly and Juan Rios of Galax, Virginia; Beckie and Richard Fields of Johnson City, Tennessee; granddaughter Whitney Munroe and great-granddaughter Eve Munroe; sisters Imogene Higgins Frye and Sharon Higgins Plichta both of Galax, Virginia; brothers Kenneth Higgins and Robert Higgins both of Galax, Virginia; several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Sunday, December 28, 2014 at 2:00 PM in the First Baptist Church with Pastor Sam Bartlett officiating. Burial will follow in the Felts Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 1:00 PM until time for the funeral service at the First Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the First Baptist Church, 1024 East Stuart Drive, Galax, Virginia 24333.
