Hazel Smith Vernon, age 92, of Galax, Virginia passed away December 23, 2020 at her home.  Hazel was born March 1, 1928 in Ennice, North Carolina to Hillard and Thelma Smith.

She was preceded in death by her husband Paul Vernon and a daughter Mary Alice Vernon.  She is survived by a son Lloyd Vernon of Galax; daughter and son-in-law Phyllis and Larry Burnette of Galax, and one grandson and wife Jason and Stephanie Burnette of Woodlawn, Virginia.

Per Hazel's request there will be no service.

Burial will be at Saddle Mountain Cemetery, Ennice, North Carolina.

The family would like to thank Twin County Hospice for their loving care during her illness.
