Hazel Elizabeth Valentine, 81, of Fontana, California, passed away Monday, February 2, 2009 at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Los Angeles, California. She was born August 7, 1927 in North Carolina to Connie & Lydia Thompson.

She was the widow of James E. Valentine. Mrs. Valentine is survived by two daughters: Lydia Valentine of Fontana, California, and Mary Valentine of Nevada; sister Rosetta Humphrey of Chicago, Illinois; two brothers: Alfred Thompson of North Wilkesboro, NC and Luther Thompson of Elkin, NC. Two Grandchildren and two great grandchildren also survive.

The funeral service will be held Sunday, February 8, 2009 at the Faith Tabernacle at 2:00 PM with Pastor Ethelene Bryan, Mable Bryson and Evangelist Helen Brown officiating. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the funeral service. Interment will follow in the Macedonia Church Cemetery, Sparta, North Carolina.
